Past Workshops

Towards a Healthier Drinking Culture

In response to the Victoria Foundations Vital Conversation on Drinking in the spring of 2018, the CSPC hosted 3 community dialogue events on moderate drinking. These events were workshops with multi-sectoral stakeholders to explore alcohol consumption within the community.

Point-in-Time (PiT) Volunteer Training Sessions

The Council coordinated its third one-day Point-in-Time Count of people experiencing homelessness in the region on March 12, 2020. The council had 175 volunteers to assist with the count and provided training workshops about the volunteer role, what to expect, general information about homelessness & the PiT count, safety information and how to preform the survey.

The Economics of Happiness Workshops

Three Events with Mark Anielski were held on November 12, 2009 in Colwood, British Columbia. These events came into being when the CSPC came together with folks from Colwood Community Place with a common interest: The messages within Mark Anielski's book "The Economics of Happiness".

Our Farmlands, Our Foodlands... Our Future Conference: A Call to Action

On November 27, 2008, the Our Farmlands, Our Foodlands…Our Future conference brought 150 key representatives from government, agriculture and academia together with farmers, consumers, producers, and other community members to discuss the future of our farmlands and foodlands and to plan concrete action to ensure its protection and the viability of agriculture in the Capital Regional District (CRD).
