Give Food Get Food, is a CR-FAIR Food Access Working Group Initiative to try to divert food that would normally go to waste and redirect it to agencies who work with communities in need.
The Community Social Planning Council of Greater Victoria has teamed up with SocialCoast.org to celebrate the great success of the Community Includes Everyone campaign (aka the four green circles) and to announce the new Community Action Plan on Poverty (CAP on Poverty) with a gourmet 100 mile picnic.
BC has one of the highest poverty rates in the country. With a very high cost of living (particularly housing costs), far too many British Columbians find it difficult to make ends meet. The number of households facing an affordability challenge in the Capital Region continues to rise.
