Come and be part of a leading research organization in BC’s Capital Region!

The Community Social Planning Council is an independent, non-partisan, and knowledgeable voice on social issues in BC’s capital region. Through its work, the Council contributes to strengthening local research and evaluation capacity, and to building community-based research infrastructure. By supporting evidence-based policy and program development, practicing inclusive community engagement processes, and promoting social planning practices, the Council supports the creation of sustainable communities.

The Board is seeking a visionary, energetic and collaborative individual who has a passion about enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of BC’s Capital Region to effectively lead this dynamic organization. This individual has demonstrated skills and abilities in strategic thinking, organizational management, social research theory and practice, communications, revenue generation, entrepreneurialism, and multi-sectoral collaboration. This person has knowledge and understanding of local and regional planning issues, voluntary sector governance and issues, and key government, business, academic, and community leaders in BC’s Capital Region.

Ideally the candidate will have a level of education, training and experience equivalent to a relevant Master's degree, including knowledge of social research methodologies and practice, or related discipline, and seven to ten years of increasingly responsible leadership roles.

This is a full-time position with a term of seven months and the opportunity for renewal at that time. We would also be willing to consider creative arrangements in which the right candidate would provide leadership to the organization on a part-time basis, while research responsibilities would be distributed to other positions.

Please see the job posting for more details and to apply.
