- A Wonderful Evening of Savouring Social Change
Thank you to everyone who attended or supported our first annual mystery dinner fundraiser. It was great to connect with everyone, and celebrate our work to strengthen communities in our region, and address our social challenges.
The Community Social Planning Council is a vital resource to social change and innovation, and we can’t continue to lead that work without community support. We raised over $10,000 from this event, and enjoyed connecting with our many partners, supporters and colleagues from all sectors and parts of our region.
Karen Elgersma from Shaw was the consummate professional as our MC, and we enjoyed some great local cuisine from our host chefs and restaurants. As “Executive Chef” of the overall event I presented a “menu for social action” for our community which you can see here.
Please take a look and consider donating to our work for a better future. A future with reduced poverty, sustainable livelihoods, affordable housing, resilient neighbourhoods and effective social supports to all or our residents.
A special thanks goes out to all of our generous sponsors. To the restaurants that donated the full cost of the meals for 8-16 people each - Camille's, Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub & Guesthouses, The Gatsby Mansion Restaurant, The Steamship Grill & Taphouse, India Bistro, The Black Olive, The Fireside Grill, Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria, The Blue Crab, Saaz Indian Restaurant, Olive the Senses.
